Surya has over two decades of experience spanning Business Operations, Management Consulting, Investing and Corporate Research.

Prior to joining Peepul Capital, he was the CEO of Saregama India Ltd. He has served as the Director – Investments with Omidyar Network, and CEO of Web18 (Network18’s Digital and Mobile businesses). Surya also spent several years with RealNetworks in Seattle and with PRTM Management Consultants in Washington DC having starting his career with Xerox Corporation in their Research Centre in New York. While at Xerox, he also served as an adjunct professor in the dept of Computer Science at SUNY Buffalo.

Surya received an Engineering degree from IIT – Kanpur, an MS from Virginia Tech, a PhD from the University of Utah and an MBA from the William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester.
